Grand Banks

Hello,

All well on board!

Sun 19 Jun
Steady conditions, not much is demanded of us so we act accordingly. Eating up the miles.
21:45 Another day draws to a close. SB reaching. Not a cloud in sight… and yes, yet another flaming sunset with a full moon in attendance.
Dinner consumed and dishes done. Pasta in 50% seawater, dishes in 100%.
All boat electronics are off. :-) Only things drawing power is fridge, stereo and VHF. KISS.

Mon 20 Jun
Same, same. Haven't touched the setup for several days. A slight cloud cover today as we are a little closer to the H ridge. The wind is determining where we go. Looks like we will be crossing the S tip of Grand Banks before heading a little N to head for Ireland. Keeping a little S so not to get too far into the ice zone.

Tue 21 June
05:00 Wind angle takes us across the southern part of Grand Banks. As we transition the ledge we experience lumpy seas and fog. Going from 3000m depth to less than 100m in the course of 30nm.
09:00 Another day but no sunshine, or visibility for that matter. (50-100m) SB reaching in 15kts. 1 reef and a bit of furl. Good balance.

Finding our legs and settling in

Hello,

All well on board!

Fri 17 Jun
12:30 Leave the dock. Lovely breezy day. Furled with 1 reef.
23:00 Hydrovane wind steering coping, just. Magnus finding his legs. Good night.

Sat 18 Jun
09:00 Lively night. Barometer rising. Things are forecast to lighten up as we will be engulfed by a H which we hope to ride E as it passes. Sunshine and chilly at the moment. 13 down below, 12 outside.
14:00 Charge and motor as we are stuck in fickle.
New breeze from W starts to pick up and we sail into the night. Did I say night? Full moon and starry realm. Gliding along doing 5-6kts. Magic.

Sun 19 Jun
03:00 Put in a reef and furl some for Magnus' watch.
09:00 Another reef and some more furl. Yeehaa!
We're on the N fringe of a H ridge enjoying all it entails.

Fortøyd Sotra

Fortøyd i en bås på angitt sted. Uler godt i riggen. Regner fortsatt. Får ikke sett hvordan det ser ut i dagslys da vi blir hentet 06:00 for å nå et fly 08:00.

Gi meg det åpne hav...

Indre lei, stup mørkt, dårlig sikt i bygene, masse trafikk. Gi meg det åpne hav...

Kommer oss avgårde

12:30 Bunkrer og kommer oss avgårde på siste leggen. Sønna vind blir lens i rolig vann innover. Vi fortjener det. Ja, ja, Sletta er litt påvirket men det blir straks bedre.

From Delivery Bav 34 Vaage

Fortøyd Haugesund

Karmøysundet

03:00 Obrestad. Rom BB lens. Byger. Sjøen bygger seg.
07:20 Går inn Karmøysundet. Platt lens, store bølger. Jobbigt. Regnbyger. Vi står til rors, 2 på, 2 av.
